That is a ridiculous title but what the heck, it’s late in the evening and my imagination is at low ebb. I am excited, however, in discovering that google images has a bunch of fantastic artwork available to decorate (is that the correct word – no illustrate) my blog. Oh yowzer. (is that a word?)
Silliness is the mood for this particular blog. So here goes, I am crawling all over in itchiness and I very much fear that I have brought bed bugs back from Ecuador. It’s either that or I have some dread disease because little bumps are popping up here and there and they don’t look like mosquito bites (and how could they be mosquito bites in -28 weather?) I’m pretty sure that my cats don’t have fleas since they have been housebound for 2 months and have not been scratching themselves. Monk, I feel your pain!
More silliness, have you ever aspired to being an artist? I can’t say that I actually thought of making a career out of my art but when I was a teenager and even in my early twenties, I drew a lot. In fact I think I drew almost every day for years. All my surviving papers from my school work have doodles all over the margins and so do my early journals. Sadly I never went past high school in learning more about how to draw. I did take some painting lessons at night classes but the truth is I am a terrible painter but I have some modest talent in drawing. I ought to take up sketching with some formal lessons. Meanwhile though, it is nice to borrow some from artists that I truly admire. Like Edith Holden (of the Edwardian Lady fame) and Garth Williams (the artist who brought the Little House books and Charlotte’s Web to life).
Just think of the To Do List I am making for myself when I retire. Horticulture classes, sketching classes, nuclear physics (oh, I haven’t got to that yet in the blog, but stay tuned). How’s your list coming along?
