There are some great collections of the world, the greatest is probably the British Museum in London. Collecting can be a good thing when it includes Greek busts, Roman coins or Egyptian relics though I hold the bar at mummies and unlike the collecting of dust, papers and other useless objects. I am personally convinced that paper actually breeds in the night. When I get up in the morning and look around my room and my office I want to rollover and go back to sleep. Where does all this paper come from since I am sure I didn’t bring it home with me. After all I have forbidden myself to do so.
When I was little I used to save the wrapping paper from our Christmas presents from Farmor. I only stopped that habit a few years ago yet I find it painful to watch as we shove the wrapping paper into the garbage bag. I still collect the ribbons and even the name tags if they are especially cute. That Danish frugalness is still strong in me.
I have always adored notecards and when I would buy an especially cute set I would always hold one card back in a little collection that I kept in a beautiful engraved wooden box my parents gave me for the 19th birthday. I was devastated when the burglar stole the box, as much for my notecards as for the box. So imagine my delight when I discovered a new notecard place called Papyrus. Oh my but they have the most adorable looking cards. Lucky for me that I am one of that dying breed, the letter writer, so I feel slightly justified in purchasing boxes of notecards. True there are plenty in my desk but this one, well it’s just too cute not to get before it’s all gone. Yes, I am an addict.
My name is Sanne and I am a notecard junky.
